The Shark WS640 Series is not picking up debris. No suction or light suction. The third indicator light on the hand vacuum is solid yellow.
Solution:
- Dust cup may be full; empty dust cup.
- Check floor nozzle for blockages; clear blockages if required.
- Remove any string, carpet fibers, or hair that may be wrapped around the brush roll.
- Check the connection between the hand vacuum and wand for blockages; clear blockages if required.
- Check filters to see if they need cleaning. Follow instructions for rinsing and completely air-drying the filters before reinstalling them.
The Shark WS640 Series lifts area rugs.
Solution:
- Make sure you are not engaging in Boost mode. Take care when vacuuming area rugs or rugs with delicately sewn edges.
- Turn off the unit to disengage from the carpet, then restart
The Shark WS640 Series has a PowerFins nozzle but the brush roll doesn’t spin
Solution:
- Immediately turn off the vacuum. Remove any blockages before turning the vacuum back on. Make sure the hand vacuum is tilted back far enough for the brush roll to engage while in use.
- If the floor nozzle has headlights and they are not illuminated, there is a connection issue between the hand vacuum, wand, and nozzle. Try detaching the parts, then reconnecting them
The Shark WS640 Series turns off on its own
Solution:
- There are several possible reasons for the vacuum turning off on its own, including blockages, battery issues, and overheating. If the vacuum turns off on its own, perform the following steps:
- Turn on the vacuum and check the battery indicator lights located on the handheld vacuum. If recharging is needed, make sure power is turned off before connecting to the charger.
- Empty the dust cup and clean the filters (see Emptying the Dust Cup and Cleaning the Filters sections).
- Check wand, accessories, and inlet openings and remove any blockages.
- Allow unit and battery to cool for at least 45 minutes, until they return to room temperature.
- Press the power button to restart the vacuum.
The Shark WS640 Series Battery Indicator Lights on the hand vacuum are flashing.
Solution:
- Middle LED is solid yellow (Fig. A): Nozzle clog or motor is overheating. (See the Maintaining Your Vacuum section.)
- The right LED is flashing (Fig. B): The battery needs to be charged. Contact Customer Service at 1-800-798-7398 or sharkclean.com if you experience any of the indications listed below:
- Right and middle LEDs are flashing (Fig. C): Overcurrent or short.
- Middle LED is flashing (Fig. D): Overspeed.
- Left LED is flashing (Fig. E): Communication.
- Middle LED blinking yellow (Fig. F): There may be an electrical problem with the nozzle.
