    • Open the top lid on the dust cup by lifting the upper release tab on the front, near the Shark logo. Make sure no debris is blocking the airflow through the cone-shaped screen inside the dust cup.
    • Plug in and turn on the vacuum without the dust cup on.
  • There is a burning smell
    • If the smell is an out-of-the-box unit, This may be a new motor smell for the first couple of uses.

    • Using the crevice tool or applicable accessory, you can vacuum the buttons and the area at the top of the nozzle cover (with the nozzle cover removed).

Reminder:

  • This vacuum nozzle is specifically designed to pull in all types of debris and therefore can give the feeling of being self-propelled, especially on short carpets.
