What to do if your Polaris Quattro P40 Sport is not working?

If your Polaris Quattro P40 Sport pool cleaner is not working, start by ensuring the hose assembly is not tangled. Remeasure the hose to confirm it’s adjusted to the proper length for your pool shape. While the cleaner is operating, check that the hose swivels and connections turn freely, and that the hose is floating with the hose floats positioned correctly. If the hose is tangled, straighten it by laying it out flat in the sun. Also, verify the wheel RPM is within the target range of 28-32 RPM. If it’s not, refer to the section on adjusting wheel speed.

Should the Polaris Quattro P40 Sport still not clean the entire pool or if it becomes sluggish, running with less power than normal, or not moving, check for debris in the filter canister and clean it if necessary. Clean the filter screen, the in-line filter, the skimmer basket, pump basket, and pool filter. Inspect all hoses, connections, and swivels for leaks that could cause a loss of water pressure.

If the Polaris Quattro P40 Sport does not climb walls or is not cleaning effectively, ensure the hose length is proper and the thrust jet is adjusted for optimal coverage. For smooth surface pools, consider replacing both rear tires with PosiTrax® tires for more traction. Adjust the thrust jet as needed for fine-tuning, and ensure the hose is floating correctly with the floats properly spaced.

Following these troubleshooting steps should help resolve most issues with the Polaris Quattro P40 Sport pool cleaner. If the problem persists, consult the user manual or contact customer support for further assistance.

  1. Right side wheels stopped working, worn brushes, didn’t climb walls.

Replaced all warn out rubber and gear box. All 4 wheels work now, but it does not have traction to climb walls. All 4 wheels spinning, but unable to move up. The sweeper eventually turns (right side wheels reverse) and it starts moving away. Repeats.

  2. My Polaris Quattro sport will move forward and then reverse but not return to a forward motion. Something is wrong with the gears but which ones?

  3. My Polaris stopped moving, I looked on line for trouble shooting tips, really really helpful and the fact that the parts are all modular made it very easy to troubleshoot.
I cleaned everything that needed to be cleaned all gears were working fine, but still no movement, the problem was on the main RO837200 main engine module water port/jet into the turbine.
Attached to the side is the water inlet ( main hose inlet ) 4 screws, there are two white plastic tabs attached, one top one bottom, remove this part, the top white tab is the water jet that turns the turbine/gears. This port was clogged, I cleared the blockage and then blew it through. Putting everything back together my Polaris is now working perfectly.
