Dolphin Active 20 Frequently Asked Questions
What Are the Common Reasons for My Dolphin Active 20 to Stop Working?
If your Dolphin Active 20 has stopped functioning, several common issues could be the cause. First, check the power supply to ensure it is plugged in and switched on. A lack of voltage in the outlet can also prevent operation. Next, inspect the floating cable and connections; they should be secure and free of damage. Additionally, debris may be obstructing the impeller or wheels, so a thorough inspection is necessary. Lastly, a clogged filter basket can hinder performance, requiring cleaning. If these steps do not resolve the issue, consider contacting customer support for further assistance.
How Can I Troubleshoot Power Supply Issues with My Dolphin Active 20?
Troubleshooting power supply issues with your Dolphin Active 20 involves several steps. Start by ensuring that the power supply is plugged into a functioning outlet and that the switch is turned on. You can test the outlet with another device to confirm it has power. If the power supply has indicator lights, check their status; a blinking light may indicate a problem. Additionally, inspect the power cable for any visible damage or loose connections. If the power supply appears to be functioning but the cleaner still does not operate, try resetting the power supply by turning it off for 30 seconds before turning it back on.
What Maintenance Steps Should I Follow for My Dolphin Active 20?
Regular maintenance is crucial for the optimal performance of your Dolphin Active 20. Start by cleaning the filter basket after each use to prevent clogs that can affect suction and cleaning efficiency. Additionally, inspect the impeller and remove any debris that may be trapped. It’s also important to check the floating cable for kinks or damage, as this can impede movement. Periodically, you should also clean the exterior of the cleaner to remove any buildup of dirt or algae. Finally, store the cleaner in a cool, dry place when not in use to prolong its lifespan and maintain its performance.
How Do I Properly Position the Power Supply for My Dolphin Active 20?
Positioning the power supply correctly is essential for the effective operation of your Dolphin Active 20. Ideally, place the power supply approximately in the middle of the long side of the pool, at a distance of about 3 meters (10 feet) from the edge. This positioning allows the floating cable to reach all areas of the pool without kinks or obstructions. Ensure that the power supply is elevated and away from any standing water to prevent electrical hazards. Once positioned, unwind the cable completely to avoid tangles, and connect it securely to the power supply before turning it on.
What Should I Do If My Dolphin Active 20 Moves in Circles?
If your Dolphin Active 20 is moving in circles, it may indicate a few potential issues. First, check for a clogged filter basket, as this can affect the cleaner’s ability to navigate properly. Remove and clean the filter basket to ensure optimal flow. Additionally, inspect the impeller for any debris that may be stuck, as this can also hinder movement. Another common reason for circular movement is improper positioning of the power supply; ensure it is placed correctly to allow the cleaner to reach all areas of the pool. Lastly, check the pool water conditions, as algae or imbalanced chemicals can affect the cleaner’s performance.
How Can I Ensure My Dolphin Active 20 Cleans Effectively?
To ensure your Dolphin Active 20 cleans effectively, start by preparing the pool environment. Remove any large debris, such as leaves or branches, that could obstruct the cleaner. Next, check the filter basket and clean it regularly to maintain suction power. Position the power supply correctly, ensuring it is at least 3 meters (10 feet) from the pool edge, allowing the cleaner to access all areas. Additionally, monitor the pool’s chemical levels, as improper pH or chlorine levels can affect cleaning efficiency. Finally, run the cleaner for the recommended cycle time to ensure thorough cleaning, and perform regular maintenance checks to keep it in optimal condition.
I have problems with my Dolphin Active 20
Have a brand new active 20. 2 weeks old. It worked fine a few times. Now the robot blinks twice and that’s it. Doesn’t move or do anything. Need help or a new one.
A week ago I just bought the dolphin active 20 and when it gets to a ledge or wall it climbs then flips itself over and gets stuck upside down. I’ve had other robots ( smaller models) that had no problem climbing ledges and walls is something defective with this one?
I Thomas , Paul here I have a Dolphin Active 30 , mine did that also once before . I think that will happen when the pool water is to cold. Mine stopped doing that when the water temp. went above 70 degree’s. No a problem anymore.
