  • Fuel tank empty
  • Fill the fuel tank with fuel
  • Cord not plugged in (electric start models only)
  • Plug the power cord in or replace the worn cord. Reset the circuit breaker.
  • Engine not prime
  • Press the primer bulb twice and start the engine
  • Spark plug disconnected
  • Connect spark plug
  • Choke open / cold engine
  • Turn the choke to the CLOSED position, then press a primer button and start the engine
  • Engine flooded
  • Turn the choke to the ON position and crank the engine repeatedly until it start
  • Faulty spark plug
  • Replace spark plug
  • Faulty engine
  • See your Ariens Dealer

The Ariens Path-Pro 938033 Engine starts hard or runs poorly

Cause Solution
  • Fuel mixture too rich
  • Turn the choke to the OPEN position
  • Faulty, fouled, or incorrectly gapped spark plug
  • Clean and properly set spark plug gap or see your Ariens Dealer
  • Fuel cap vent is blocked
  • Install new fuel cap

The Ariens Path-Pro 938033 Excessive vibration

Cause Solution
  • Loose parts or damaged auger paddles
  • Stop the engine immediately. Replace auger paddles. Replace auger paddles. See Replace Auger Paddles on page 14 or see your Ariens Dealer

The Ariens Path-Pro 938033 Excessive snow left behind

Cause Solution
  • Scraper blade is worn
  • Replace when damaged or when the scraper blade has been adjusted down as far as possible and does not touch the ground or clear properly. See Replace Scraper Blade on page 15 or see your Ariens Dealer

The Ariens Path-Pro 938033 Snow does not discharge

Cause Solution
  • Auger drive belt is loose or damaged
  • Replace the belt or adjust the auger control cable. See Replace Belt on page 15. See Adjust Augger Cable on page 15. See your Ariens Dealer.
  • Discharge chute is clogged with snow
  • Stop the engine immediately. Clean discharge chute and auger housing. DO NOT use your hands
  • Auger paddles are worn or damaged
  • Replace auger paddles. see Replace Auger Paddles on page 14 or see your Ariens Dealer

The Ariens Path-Pro 938033 Remote discharge chute handle has excessive play

Cause Solution
  • Remote chute rotation cables are loose
